Through innovative Primary Care and Dental Care solutions, Heartland Health Center empowers low income, under insured, and non-insured individuals to received affordable and effective wellness solutions.

Established in 2009, Heartland Health Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to inspiring health and wellness within the community.

OUR MISSION

Heartland Health Center has established the mission to “serve low-income and/or uninsured individuals with access to affordable primary care, through a coordinated community-wide effort.”

Our Staff

Suzanne M. Greenquist, D.O., Medical Director

Dr. Greenquist is a native of North Bend, NE. She received her B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2002. She attended Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine and received her medical degree in 2007, and completed a family medicine residency through the UNMC-Lincoln Family medicine program in 2010.

She is board-certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, and is an active member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, Nebraska Academy of Family Physicians, and the Christian Medical & Dental Association.

Dr. Greenquist’s  hobbies include cooking, gardening, and running. She and her family enjoy many athletic and outdoor activities. Professional interest areas include nutrition, wellness, and preventive care.

Dr. Hanna-Slagle, M.D.

Colleen Hanna-Slagle, M.D. is our newest pediatrician, and is a board-certified pediatrician who began seeing patients at Heartland Health Center on June 1st, 2016. Hanna-Slagle joined Heartland Health Center from OneWorld Community Health Centers in Omaha, NE.

She is a Harvard trained Pediatrician and has an array of expertise from infants to adolescents, immunizations, school and sports physicals, chronic disease and behavioral and development concerns.  She has five children of her own including two sets of twins.

Dr. Melissa Schuldt, D.D.S.

Dr. Schuldt was born and raised in Grand Island and has one brother, who is a Chiropractor here in Grand Island.

She graduated from Grand Island Senior High and completed her undergraduate studies at UNL where she received a Bachelors of Science with a minor in Psychology.

She attended UNMC- Dental College and graduated in 2011. She moved back to Grand Island and married her husband in 2011. She has one son who is 2.5 years old. She practiced in private practice for 4 years prior to coming to Heartland Health Center.

Nadia McCann APRN-NP

Nadia earned her Master’s Degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of Kansas Medical Center in 2014. She began the Nurse Practitioner program at KU while living in Kansas. She moved back to Nebraska during the final year of her program and had the privilege of completing her clinical practice hours here in the community.

She also has a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from the University of Nebraska Medical Center and a Master’s Degree in Liberal Arts with emphasis in Education from Baker University. During her RN career she worked in the hospital setting, long term care facilities, and in community health nursing.

She was born in Kearney, NE and graduated from Southern Valley in Oxford, NE. She enjoys spending time with family and friends. She and her family are actively involved in Boy Scouts, Parent Teacher Association, and church activities. She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the Nebraska Nurse Practitioner Association.

Lindsay Van Pelt, APRN-NP

Lindsay earned her Master’s Degree as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2011. She has been doing Women’s Health and Family Practice since 2012, and she has been doing Obstetrics since 2014. She also has a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Clarkson College in Omaha that she earned in 2007.

During her RN career, she worked in a pediatric clinic, and in the hospital setting on Post-Partum Care and Labor and Delivery. She also has experience as a nursing instructor, where she taught geriatrics, medical-surgical nursing, and labor and delivery.

Lindsay is from small-town Hordville, NE. She loves spending time with her family and her children. She loves providing women’s and obstetrical care to the Grand Island community, and wants to ensure the wellbeing of all women.
