Dr. Hanna-Slagle, M.D.

Colleen Hanna-Slagle, M.D. is our newest pediatrician, and is a board-certified pediatrician who began seeing patients at Heartland Health Center in June, 2016. Hanna-Slagle joined Heartland Health Center from OneWorld Community Health Centers in Omaha, NE.

She is a Harvard trained Pediatrician and has an array of expertise from infants to adolescents, immunizations, school and sports physicals, chronic disease and behavioral and development concerns.  She has five children of her own including two sets of twins.

Lindsay Van Pelt, APRN-NP

Lindsay earned her Master’s Degree as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2011. She has been doing Women’s Health and Family Practice since 2012, and she has been doing Obstetrics since 2014. She also has a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Clarkson College in Omaha that she earned in 2007.

During her RN career, she worked in a pediatric clinic, and in the hospital setting on Post-Partum Care and Labor and Delivery. She also has experience as a nursing instructor, where she taught geriatrics, medical-surgical nursing, and labor and delivery.

Lindsay is from small-town Hordville, NE. She loves spending time with her family and her children. She loves providing women’s and obstetrical care to the Grand Island community, and wants to ensure the wellbeing of all women.

Dave Hoyt, MS Ed, LIMHP, LADC

Dave Hoyt is a licensed independent mental health therapist and licensed alcohol and drug counselor.  Before transitioning into counseling, he spent ten years in corrections, including work at the local county jail and Youth Rehabilitation and Treatment Center in Kearney, as well as twelve years in social work.  For the past six years, he has served the community as a licensed therapist.  Dave has experience working with families, children of all ages, teens, adults, and special needs individuals.

Dave takes great pride in contributing all of his combined experience to his current practice.  His approach is strength-based and solution focused.  A cognitive behavioral blend is designed to help patients live the most fulfilling life possible.  While individuals sessions are common, he is able to conduct couple or family sessions as well.  He is also available to facilitate group training or consultations should the need arise.

Dave is passionate about integrating behavioral health services with the medical and dental services provided at Heartland Health Center, and is excited about the future outcomes for the individuals and families he will work with.  Let him help you, or those you care about, live a more manageable life!
